Kia Sedona minivan gets more horsepower for 2011

(November 16, 2010) IRVINE, Calif. -- Kia announced today that the 2011 Sedona minivan will come with a new 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 271 horsepower -- an increase of 27 horsepower -- while still getting better fuel economy than last year's engine. Pricing for the 2011 Sedona will start at $24,595 for the LX model (plus $795 destination charge),an increase of $400 over the 2010 model.

The LX now becomes the entry-level model, since the short wheelbase base model from last year has been discontinued. Notable additions for all 2011 Sedona models are a new front grille, new six-speed transmission with "Sportmatic" shifting, side-mirror LED turn signal indicators and hands-free Bluetooth technology. The 2011 Kia Sedona is now available at dealerships nationwide.

Standard convenience features include air conditioning, SIRIUS Satellite Radio capabilities with three months complimentary service, MP3 connectivity and Bluetooth wireless technology and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.

An eight-time recipient of a five-star crash rating from the NHTSA for each seating position and a "Top Safety Pick" by IIHS for four years, Sedona offers consumers invaluable protection provided by an extensive list of standard safety features on the 2011 model, including six standard airbags (dual advanced front and front seat-mounted side air bags, and full-length side curtain air bags for all three seating rows), active front headrests, antilock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.
