Jaguar, Land Rover to add 1,000 jobs in UK

(November 14, 2011) — Jaguar Land Rover, the UK's largest automotive design, engineering and manufacturing employer, is looking to further expand its workforce as it embarks on its most ambitious growth plan in recent history.

The company has announced plans to recruit more than 1,000 employees at its advanced manufacturing plant at Solihull. These positions are being created in support of the business's stated ambition to deliver 40 significant product actions over the next five years thanks to a multi-billion dollar investment in product creation.

Commenting on the new opportunities, Des Thurlby, HR Director at Jaguar Land Rover, said: "This is great news for Solihull. We shall be increasing the plant workforce by more than 25 percent. We have a loyal and committed workforce at Solihull. These jobs are well paid with great benefits.
