Hyundai releases design sketches of new subcompact Creta crossover

(June 10, 2015) Ahead of its global debut in India in July, Hyundai has released the official design renderings of the Creta subcompact SUV. The car is based on Hyundai's "Fluidic Sculpture 2.0" design philosophy.

"Creta design follows a premium look, based on Hyundai Motor's evolved design philosophy. Harmony between a bold front, voluminous side, sporty rear and other details complete the premium SUV's design," the company said in a statement.

Hyundai said the small crossover will be designed with a "sleek, sporty profile" and a "stable, confident stance."

Hyundai said the hidden A-pillar was applied to create unique and dynamic styling while  "hinting at an open and airy cabin."

The Creta will join a growing market of subcompact crossovers that includes the Nissan Juke, Honda HR-V, Chevrolet Trax, Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500X and Mazda CX-3.
