Florida Harley ride in January hopes to break world record

(December 16, 2015) NAPLES, Fla. — Six Bends Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers, Fla., is sponsoring a parade Saturday, Jan. 23, that organizers hope will turn out to be the "Longest Parade of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles" in the world and be recognized by Guinness Book of World Records.

The current Guinness record of 2,404 Harleys was set on May 22, 2010, in Greece. That parade covered 2.8 miles.


The Florida parade will begin at 8 a.m. at North Collier Regional Park in Naples with breakfast sponsored by Naples Harley-Davidson. It will conclude at Six Bends Harley-Davidson in Fort Myers.

The cost is $10 per rider and $5 for each passenger. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with kickstands up at 11 a.m. The proceeds will benefit the Scootin' America Campaign and the American Legion Scholarship Foundation. Food and Beer Fest sponsored by the American Legion Post 323 will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Two live bands will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
