Chrysler continues sales momentum in Canada

(December 3, 2010) As with its U.S. counterpart, Chrysler Canada continued its sales momentum last month, compared to November 2009.

November was the 12th month in a row for sales growth — with 15,308 vehicles sold, up 34 percent compared to November 2009. Included among those monthly results was positive retail sales — up 80 percent, the best November retail sales results since 2002.

As in the U.S., Chrysler Canada already has sold more vehicles this year —190,548 — than it did all of 2009 with 163,182 vehicles. In fact, it topped last year's sales during October.

"We are on the home stretch of a very good year," said Reid Bigland, president/CEO of Chrysler Canada. "Production at our Canadian plants is up 76 percent, sales are up 28 percent, and we have 14 new products starting to launch."

Ram pickup trucks have proven popular in Canada with 4,372 units sold (138 percent increase vs November 2009). Ram was edged out only by the Dodge Grand Caravan for the top sales spot with 4,413 Grand Caravans sold (up 29 percent vs November 2009).
