2011 E-Class wagon powered by a V-6 to reach U.S. showrooms in June 2010

(August 5, 2009) A new Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon will reach U.S. showrooms in June 2010, Daimler reported this week. The 2011 E-Class wagon is headed for a world debut next month at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. For U.S. shoppers, there will be a single version of the wagon, the E350 4Matic, powered by a V-6 with all-wheel drive.

A Sport package with a special grille, more aggressive front and rear fascias, twin trapezoidal exhaust pipes, cross-drilled brake discs and five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels will be available. An AMG-look option brings 18-inch alloy wheels.

Mercedes promises more interior room than in the previous edition.

In other markets, the E63 AMG wagon will develop 525 horsepower, equaling the power in the new E63 sedan. Mercedes is introducing new diesel engines in markets outside the U.S.
