(November 1, 2022) WASHINGTON, D.C. —The national average pump price continued its recent trend by dipping three cents over the past week to hit $3.76. Tepid domestic gas demand and waffling global oil prices are the main reasons, although much lower West Coast gas prices are playing a part too.

The A3 is the entry-level vehicle for the brand and while somewhat popular in Europe only sells about 10,000 a year here in America. Part of that reason is sedans are deeply out of fashion for the U.S. car buyer favoring trucks and utility vehicles.

(October 25, 2022) ATLANTA — Sales of electrified vehicles hit a record in the third quarter, as one of the hottest segments in the U.S. automotive market continues to make waves throughout the industry, according to Kelley Blue Book. More than 200,000 electrified vehicles were sold in the three-month span of Q3 – a first – with the segment far outpacing the rest of the industry in terms of sales volumes and share growth.

(October 23, 2022) Yet another auto manufacturer is resurrecting a bygone nameplate to capitalize on nostalgia like Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Ranger, Jeep Gladiator and Grand Wagoneer, Toyota Supra and others. And now it’s Acura’s turn with the remake of the Integra that recalls some of the best driving Honda and Acura cars from 1986 to 2001. Acura made a few Type Rs and since that time the Integra has garnered a much-loved cult following that’s still a living, breathing thing.

Gas demand declines over recession fears

(October 18, 2022) WASHINGTON, D.C. — Fears of a global economic recession led to a major drop in the price of crude, down $7, which helped to minimize pump price increases last week. Meanwhile, domestic gasoline demand decreased as fewer drivers fueled up in the first half of October. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand decreased nationally from 9.47 million barrels a day to 8.28 million barrels a day, and total domestic gasoline stocks increased by 2 million barrels to 209.5 million barrels, according to statistics compiled by AAA.

AAA study — Automatic emergency braking absent when needed most

(October 17, 2022) WASHINGTON, D.C. — Touted as lifesaving, crash-preventing tech, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is standard equipment in most new cars sold in the United States. Over the years, AEB has successfully stemmed rear-end crashes, which often result in injuries, property damage, and even fatalities. But AAA wanted to know if the latest generation of AEB can handle higher speeds and detect moving vehicles in its path at intersections. It struggled with the former and failed with the latter.
