Edmunds predicts new vehicle sales to dip year-over-year

(September 28, 2018) SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Edmunds forecasts that 1,392,434 new cars and trucks will be sold in the U.S. in September for an estimated seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 17.0 million. This reflects a 5.4 percent decrease in sales from August and an 8.3 percent decrease from September 2017.

AAA: Drivers rely too heavily on new vehicle safety technologies

Honda vehicles continue to dominate NICB's 'most stolen' list

(September 26, 2018) DES PLAINES, Ill. — The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) has released its annual Hot Wheels report, which identifies the 10 most stolen vehicles in the United States. The report examines vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and determines the vehicle make, model and model year most reported stolen in 2017.

Pump prices trend lower for majority of motorists

(September 25, 2018) Motorists in 32 states are welcoming cheaper or stable gas prices at the start of the workweek. Today’s national gas price average is $2.85, which is the same price as last Monday, one-cent more than last month and 27-cents more expensive than this time last year, according to statistics compiled by AAA.

(September 24, 2018) It was 50 years ago when, on the streets of San Francisco, some guy named Steve McQueen made film history, starring as tough-guy police Lieutenant Frank Bullitt in the aptly named action thriller “Bullitt.”
While I personally found the movie cinematically a bit tedious (I consider “Papillion” to be McQueen’s magnum opus), the movie’s 10-minute chase scene, exquisitely filmed with real cars and no special effects, has become the stuff of legend.
