Honda's Accavitti touts new products, sees good year ahead

(January 17, 2014) "As the 2014 North American International Auto Show confirmed, our industry is never short on excitement … and competition … and I think this year is going to be a particularly upbeat and positive one for automotive enthusiasts of all stripes.

We'll do our best to add to the thrills.

We kicked things off in Detroit with the unveiling of the redesigned U.S. Fit and the all-new Acura TLX Prototype — vehicles that exemplify our future business and product strategy, which is focused strongly on leveraging the core strengths of our company — especially powertrain and packaging technology.

Both the Honda Fit and Acura TLX are powered by advanced new engines and transmissions that greatly enhance sporty and fun driving while targeting class-leading fuel economy, safety, and cabin space.

We're excited about bringing these vehicles to market this year, but for now, we enjoyed another thrilling North American International Auto Show. Thanks to the good people of Detroit for their hospitality and patience, and for sending the polar vortex packing before their guests arrived!

Looking forward to a great 2014. Let's have some fun!"
