Frank Beard named GasBuddy convenience store analyst/evangelist
(March 27, 2017) BOSTON — GasBuddy has announced it has named Frank Beard to the new position of analyst/evangelist of convenience store and retail trends. Beard made waves in the convenience store industry when he documented himself eating every meal at a gas station for 30 consecutive days. Not only did he avoid gaining weight, he lost six pounds and proved that the industry has evolved and expanded its offerings to include healthier food options.
“Since launching our SaaS platform, GasBuddy Business Pages, dozens of c-store retailers have turned to GasBuddy for consumer insights and ways to better reach their customers,” said Mike Dilorenzo, vice president of marketing at GasBuddy.
“Frank has visited more than 1,000 gas stations in 24 states and brings the passion and knowledge that will help further advance GasBuddy’s efforts in working with our retail partners and educating the public as to just how much the industry has evolved.”
Beard is a sought after public speaker, having spoken at various industry conventions, including the National Association of Convenience Stores Show in 2016. In his new role, Beard will continue to follow the industry closely and analyze GasBuddy’s rating and reviews data to produce original content.
“I've used the GasBuddy app for years, so I understand as a consumer what a powerful tool it is when I’m on the road looking for gas, as well as for my next meal,” said Beard. “I’m excited to be on the team and look forward to working with industry leaders.”
