Chevrolet led all automotive brands in 1967 with nearly 2 million in sales, topping second-place Ford by more than 200,000. The remains of this 1967 Chevy convertible looks as if it has been cannibalized several times for spare parts. It was found in a South Carolina scrapyard.

New York auto show canceled as Covid-19 cases rise



(August 5, 2021) NEW YORK — The New York International Auto Show has been canceled, a little more than two weeks before it was set to start, as COVID-19 cases spread and after state and local officials announced new safety measures, organizers said in a statement Wednesday, Automotive News reported on Wednesday.It marks the second-straight year the show has been canceled because of the coronavirus.

Mecum Orlando Summer Special Auction achieves $35 million in overall sales

Featuring 1,056 cars on offer throughout four days of heated auction action, the July 28-31 event saw overall sales reach $35 million as 850 vehicles hammered sold for a strong 80% sell-through rate.

First Acura NSX Type S will be auctioned for charity during Monterey Car Week



(August 4, 2021) MONTEREY, Calif. — Acura has announced that it will auction off the first serial production 2022 NSX Type S during Monterey Car Week. The first NSX Type S ever available outside of Japan, VIN #001, will be sold to the highest bidder at Mecum Auction’s Monterey, California event, on Aug. 14. All proceeds from the sale of the exclusive supercar will benefit charity, including an innovative STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) education program for underserved youth nationwide in partnership with the Center of Science and Industry (COSI).

VW announces pricing for refreshed 2022 Tiguan starting at $26,790

Toyota killing the Avalon for the U.S. market



(August 3, 2021) Toyota Motor North America has opted to ax the large Avalon sedan after the 2022 model year, the Japanese automaker told suppliers in a letter Monday, according to Automotive News. The Avalon, the mass market brand's flagship sedan, was due to be refreshed in the second half of next year. However, the automaker's purchasing department informed suppliers that Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky will end output of the Avalon.
