It’s been proven to me that I don’t hold a monopoly on hate — especially when it comes to annoying driving habits of others. One of my readers sent me an e-mail saying what ticks him off are the “idiot drivers” who cut across three lanes of traffic to turn left. I’ve written previous rants on similar subjects but for the good of my reading public (whom I depend on as an audience for my vitriol) I’m going to use this column to address this exact crime against humanity.

International Light Line



International Harvester produced the Light Line pickup truck from 1969 through April 1975 when production ended. The truck came with two inline 6-cylinder choices and five V-8 choices. Transmissions included a 5-speed manual and a 3-speed automatic. This 1974 example seems to be in decent shape.

First Bacalar and Blower customer cars hand-finished by Bentley Mulliner



(August 20, 2021) CREWE, England — Bentley Mulliner has completed the first customer cars in both of its new series of pinnacle, handcrafted, bespoke projects. Each car is the first of their respective 12 vehicle series, with Bacalar Car One being the first customer delivery of Mulliner’s new coach-built barchetta. Meanwhile, Blower Car One is a millimeter-accurate mechanical recreation of Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin’s 1929 supercharged 4½-Liter, and the first customer car of the world’s first pre-war continuation series.

Toyota to cut global production by 40% due to chip shortage



(August 19, 2021) Automotive News reported today that Toyota will slash global output about 40 percent in September as it finally feels the bite of the pandemic and the global shortage of automotive microchips. In announcing the hit, Toyota blamed the suspensions on bottlenecks in worldwide chip supplies and the outbreak of the COVID-19 delta variant in Southeast Asia.

2022 Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid joins popular SUV model range



(August 19, 2021) IRVINE, Calif. — The 2022 Sorento Turbo Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) SUV is the latest addition to Kia’s ambitious ‘Plan S’ electrification strategy and the fourth generation Sorento model range, which was introduced last year in both gasoline-powered and turbo hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) forms.
