Genesis X Concept EV-based GT is unveiled



(April 1, 2021) LOS ANGELES — Genesis has introduced the Genesis X Concept, an EV-based GT (Gran Turismo) concept car. A world-premiere video captured the concept car’s debut, which took place on March 26 on a private rooftop in Los Angeles.  The Genesis X Concept is the brand’s fifth concept car, following the New York, GV80, Essentia, and Mint concepts, and epitomizes its new take on sustainable luxury car design.

(March 31, 2021) SEOUL — The new Kia EV6 brings long-range, zero-emissions power, 800V ultra-fast charging and distinctive styling to the crossover SUV market. The EV6 is Kia’s first car to be based on the company’s dedicated new platform for battery electric vehicles (BEVs). 2020-21 GMC Savana and Chevy Express recalled for fire risk



(March 31, 2021) WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Transportation (NHTSA) urged owners of 2020 and 2021 GMC Savana and Chevrolet Express to park their vehicles outside and away from homes, structures, and other flammable materials such as vegetation, until their vehicles have been repaired, due to a new recall for the risk of fire.

BMW Group steps up sustainable sourcing of lithium for battery cell production



(March 31, 2021) MUNICH, Germany  — The BMW Group will be accelerating its expansion of e-mobility in the coming years. By 2030, at least half the company’s global sales are expected to come from fully-electric vehicles. This will also increase the need for lithium, an important raw material for production of battery cells. For this reason, the company will source lithium from a second leading supplier, U.S.-based Livent. The value of the multi-year contract will total around 285 million euros. Livent will supply the lithium directly to the BMW Group’s battery cell manufacturers from 2022 on.

New usage-based insurance, driving score help Hyundai drivers save money
