New York auto show postponed until August

(March 11, 2020) NEW YORK — The annual New York auto show, staged by the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association,  will be pushed back to August from April because of the coronavirus, organizers said late Tuesday.

Press previews will be staged Aug. 26 and 27, followed by public days on Aug. 28 through Sept. 6, organizers said. The auto show was scheduled to open on April 8.

All-new Hyundai Elantra to be unveiled in Hollywood on March 17

Ford and Kentucky Derby enter multiyear sponsorship

(March 10, 2020) DEARBORN, Mich. — As official truck, non-luxury SUV, car and van of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, Ford is hosting on-site activations throughout Derby Week, including special access for FordPass Rewards members plus celebrations for veterans and active duty military personnel.

Each Kentucky Oaks and Derby horse owner will also receive a Ford Explorer to use during the event.

RUF Automobile unveils new off-road concept car, first production RUF

(March 10, 2020) PFAFFENHAUSEN, Germany — RUF Automobile, manufacturer and creator of bespoke sports cars that combine performance and suitability for everyday use, unveiled the RUF Rodeo Concept and the first production RUF SCR at its headquarters in Pfaffenhausen.

The Rodeo Concept was inspired by the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance and its founder — and friend of RUF — Bruce Meyer, as well as by Ralph Lauren and his 2011 Western Collection and RUF enthusiast and collector Phillip Sarofim who has roots in Texas.

This hulk of a 1950 Packard was found in a Texas salvage yard. The 1948–1950 Packard styling was polarizing. To some it was sleek and blended classic with modern; others nicknamed it the "pregnant elephant." Perhaps the styling fell ourt of favor between 1949 when 116,955 copies were sold and 1950 when sales tumbled to just 42,627.
