2020 Porsche Macan turbo gets improved performance

(August 30, 2019) ATLANTA, Georgia — The Porsche Macan Turbo returns for the 2020 model year with quicker acceleration, a higher top track speed and improved braking ability over the preceding Macan Turbo model.

A 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine generates 434 hp from 5,700 rpm to 6,600 rpm and 405 lb-ft of torque from 1,800 rpm to 5,600 rpm, enabling a 0-60 mph sprint of 4.3 seconds, or 4.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package.

Mecum Monterey auction approaches $40 million in sales

(August 29, 2019) WALWORTH, Wis. — Mecum’s recent collector car auction, held Aug. 15-17 in Monterey, Calif., brought $32.2 million in overall sales by auction close, and totals have since reached $38 million with the addition of successful post-auction Bid Goes On deals and sales of vehicles within the Blackhawk Exposition offering.

As negotiations continue, Monterey totals are still growing and quickly closing in on the $40 million mark. Leading the live auction’s top-selling vehicles was a magnificent 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 that brought in a strong $2.75 million.

Hyundai reveals personal electric scooter capable of 6.2-mile range

(August 28, 2019) SEOUL — Hyundai Motor Group has developed a new prototype electric scooter. Building on its initial concept presented at CES 2017, the new model boasts rear-wheel drive, a highly-capable lithium battery and stylish front and rear lights.

The latest concept features in future Hyundai plans to enable first- and last-mile mobility through integrating the scooter with future Hyundai and Kia vehicles. When mounted on a vehicle, the scooter is charged automatically using electricity produced while driving, ensuring that the user can complete their journey seamlessly.
