Fade to black: GMC introduces SUV special editions

(March 23, 2018) DETROIT — GMC is expanding offerings for its premium SUV lineup with the 2019 Terrain and Acadia Black Editions. Both build on the bold road presence that already defines the popular SUVs with sculpted, athletic appearances.

The Black Editions are distinguished by darkened exterior treatments, adding more choices to lineups that also include color-matched, chromed and unique Denali appearances. The design advances GMC’s legacy of precision craftsmanship and answers customers’ calls for greater vehicle personalization.

Toyota brings hatchback design back to the 2019 Corolla

Next Volvo wagon to make North American debut in New York

(March 23, 2018) ROCKLEIGH, N.J. — As Swedish luxury automaker Volvo Cars moves into its next growth stage, the new Volvo V60 wagon and a luxury trim of the XC40 compact SUV will make their North American debuts at the New York International Auto Show next week.

The 2019 XC40 Inscription, a luxurious trim on Volvo’s new compact SUV with unique styling details, and the new 2019 V60 wagon, the latest torchbearer in a long line of Volvo wagons, are set to be seen for the first time this side of the Atlantic.

Jaguar I-PACE completes lap of Monaco Grand Prix circuit

(March 22, 2018) MAHWAH, N.J. — Jaguar has taken to the Monaco Grand Prix circuit to showcase the performance and handling of its first battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Jaguar I-PACE.

Boasting 394 horsepower and 512 lb-ft of torque from its twin electric motors, the I-PACE takes just 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 mph. Monaco’s iconic harbor layout was the perfect venue for the performance SUV’s late-night test, with its combination of technical straights, tight twists and turns.

Hyundai adds exclusive engine to Tucson Sport trim for 2018

(March 22, 2018) FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Hyundai’s Tucson Sport is now equipped with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder GDI producing 181 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque, an advantage over key competitors the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Rogue.

Peak torque delivery starts at 4,000 rpm, similar to the majority of segment competitors, delivering responsiveness and performance in everyday driving conditions.

Former Viper plant to become home of Fiat Chrysler car collection

(March 22, 2018) DETROIT — FCA US will honor the legacy of the Dodge Viper as part of two initiatives announced this week.

First, the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant, the former production home of the iconic Dodge Viper, will get a second life as an internal meeting and display space that will showcase the company’s concept and historic vehicle collection. Second, the company is kicking off an auction of Viper memorabilia to benefit the United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

This 1960 Ford Thunderbird was spotted in Texas Hill Country, although we don't know if the well-used, but still restorable  T-Bird was actually sold. Ford began building four-passenger Birds in 1958 after they started life three years earlier as a two-seat sports car. Cadillac unveils CT6 V-Sport model with 550-horsepower turbo V-8

(March 22, 2018) Cadillac has unveiled the CT6 V-Sport, the first-ever V-Performance model of its top-of-range sedan. The introduction of the high-performance variant coincides with a makeover of the entire CT6 lineup that incorporates the newest iteration of Cadillac’s design language featured on the Escala Concept. The Cadillac V-Sport portfolio currently includes the CTS V-Sport and the XTS V-Sport.

Newly refreshed Sonata a serious mid-size contender

(March 21, 2018) While sedan sales continue to decline in favor of utility vehicles, mid-sized family sedans like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry received major redesigns for 2018 in an attempt to attract buyers back and stop the bleeding. However, designers at Hyundai elected to go with a mid-cycle refresh instead. But, this refresh is about as close to a redesign as you can get without changing the engines.

Record attendance, more than 1,000 displays highlight classic auto show

(March 21, 2018) LOS ANGELES — Record attendance with over 30,000 enthusiasts, displays of more than 1,000 rare and vintage cars and the presentation of 25 awards highlighted the second annual Classic Auto Show, which took over two floors at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The Classic Auto Show showcased an extensive selection of vintage cars from private collections, museums and Southern California car clubs, spanning virtually every imaginable automotive genre.
