Volkswagen delivers 50 e-Golf electric cars to Hamburg, Germany

(February 28, 2018)  The Volkswagen Group has delivered 50 e-Golf cars to the city of Hamburg, Germany. Over the next three years, these 50 cars are expected to cover more than 900,000 miles through Hamburg with the silent, zero emission e-Golf. The initiative is part of the partnership between the Volkswagen Group and the City of Hamburg.

Through this initiative, Volkswagen is also making a contribution to the nationwide penetration of e-mobility in Germany.

Kia taking Stinger to consumers for comparison drives

Polestar to make European debut at Geneva Motor Show

(February 27, 2018) Polestar, the new electric performance brand from Volvo, will make its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6 with the company’s first car, the Polestar 1, seen in public for the first time.

The Polestar 1 is an Electric Performance Hybrid GT with 600 horsepower, 737 pound-feet of torque with  93 miles of range in Pure mode, has the longest electric-only driving range of any hybrid car in the world. The Polestar 1 had its global reveal in Shanghai in October and will start production in mid-2019.

Daimler invests in start-up Anagog in mobile phone technology

(February 26, 2018) STUTTGART, Germany —  Daimler AG is intensifying its cooperation with the start-up Anagog Ltd. Daimler has participated in a financing round together with MizMaa Ventures, a venture capital company located in California. Based in Tel Aviv, Anagog has developed software which analyses user behavior directly in the mobile phone with the aid of the various on-handset sensors, and on the basis of artificial intelligence it predicts future movement scenarios.

500,000th Fiat 500L rolls off assembly line in Serbia

(February 26, 2018) The 500,000th Fiat 500L has rolled off the production line at the plant in Kragujevac, Serbia. The landmark car is a 500L Cross 1.6 MultiJet 120hp in Sicilian Orange, with black roof.

Launched in 2012, the 500L has been firmly at the top of its segment in Europe for the last five years and market leader in both Italy and Spain.

New app partners help Ford drivers get information on the move

(February 26, 2018) BARCELONA, Spain— Ford today announced, at Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, that the popular navigation and traffic app Waze will be available to Ford owners globally starting in April.

With more than 100 million active users, Waze is the world’s largest community-based navigation app, helping drivers to outsmart traffic together. First announced at CES, the collaboration means that Apple iPhone owners will be able to project Waze from their smartphone to the big screen in their car. Ford already offers mobile navigation app Sygic on the AppLink platform, and the SYNC 3 Navigation System with FordPass Live Traffic.
