Buick Cascada convertible gets more colorful for 2018

Game of drones —Jaguar XJL stars in unique airborne race

(September 19, 2017) LONDON — Jaguar has staged a unique drone race in London to demonstrate the space and refinement found in its full-size luxury sedan, the long-wheelbase XJL. High-speed drones piloted by professional racers flew through three cars during the race at Alexandra Palace, on a course marked out with 13 gates the same shape as an XJL rear door.

Travelling at speeds of up to 60 mph, the drones navigated their way through the door-shaped gates lit in Phosphor Blue and Red to highlight the interior ambient lighting options found inside the cabin of the Jaguar flagship.

Honda to add 300 new jobs, invest $267 million on new Accord

(HAM) today celebrated the start of mass production of the all-new 2018 Honda Accord with an announcement of new investments and jobs to support manufacturing of the 10th generation Accord. Honda invested $267 million and is adding 300 new jobs to support production of the all-new vehicle and to increase production at the Marysville Auto Plant.

Volkswagen ups range of it e-Golf all-electric compact vehicle

(September 18, 2017) HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen has announced pricing of the new e-Golf and upgrades for the fully-electric car including an increased range of 125 miles. The starting price for the e-Golf SE is $31,315 including destination charge.

Volkswagen is using an updated lithium-ion battery with an increased energy capacity of 35.8 kWh, up from 24.2 kWh. The revised battery helps increase the vehicle’s range from an EPA-estimated total range of 83 miles to 125 miles on a single charge.

Historically significant 1892 Peugeot to star in London to Brighton Run

(September 18, 2017) LONDON — The very first car to have been driven on Italian roads is one of the special entries in this year’s Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run supported by Hiscox. It was owned by wealthy textile industrialist, Gaetano Rossi. He ordered the car in 1892 and it was delivered to his home in Schio, Vicenza, in the north of the country in January 1893.

However, the car was not Italian, but French, an early 2.5 horsepower twin-cylinder Peugeot Type 3 with chassis number 25.

It is, says Dieter Zetsche, chairman of Daimler AG’s board of management and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, “…the first Formula 1 car with MOT (Ministry of Transport) approval.”  Uh, well, sorta.

Volkswagen begins 'VW Rule the Road' contest on Instagram

(September 17, 2017) HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen has released “VW Rule the Road,” a first-of-its-kind Instagram experience as part of its integrated campaign to launch the all-new 2018 Tiguan. Introducing a new tagline, “The New King of the Concrete Jungle,” the effort speaks to the model’s more sophisticated and refined design for urbanites.

The social experience, “VW Rule the Road” incorporates elements from the launch spot titled "The New King,” including the inflatable gorilla, the actress who plays the driver, and of course her Tiguan as she races through the city.
