Ram unveils new 2017 Rebel and Limited options at Houston Auto Show

(April 6, 2017) HOUSTON — Ram Truck has unveiled updates to two of its leading model lines; the 2017 Ram 1500 Rebel and Ram Limited. For 2017, Ram will add a seventh color option for the brand’s 1500 off-road model. The Ram Rebel 1500 Delmonico Red joins Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black, Flame Red, Granite Crystal Metallic and Mojave Sand.
 

Bollinger Motors shows all-electric sport utility truck chassis

(April 6, 2017) HOBART, N.Y. — Bollinger Motors has revealed the first images of the  actual chassis structure which will underpin its upcoming all-electric on and off road sport utility truck. The vehicle — a first of its kind — will make its global debut at a media event this summer in Bollinger Motors’ home state of New York.

The all-aluminum chassis with a high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) steel rollover structure is designed for optimal off road vehicle proportions.

Mitsubishi to unveil 2018 Outlander Sport at New York auto show

Volvo celebrates 90th anniversary with debut of new XC60

(April 5, 2017) The all-new Volvo XC60 will make its North American debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show next week. The XC60 marks the start of the new 60 series cars featuring Volvo’s new award-winning design language built on the company’s Scalable Product Architecture.

Lex Kerssemakers, president and CEO of Volvo Car USA will debut the XC60 and the 2018 S90 during Volvo Cars’ press conference scheduled for Wednesday, April 12.

Is this America's oldest unrestored production Mustang?

(April 5, 2017) ALLENTOWN, Pa. — In celebration of its ninth anniversary, America On Wheels (AOW) will feature two unrestored early Mustangs as the centerpiece to the museum’s new exhibition “Pony Cars: Then and Now” running April 8 through October.

On April 17, 1964, the Ford Motor Company launched Mustang to the world. Seventeen year-old Ron Hermann was there to see a brand new light blue convertible V8 Mustang rotating on a platform at Barr Ford in Philadelphia. That day he put down $100 and it has been his car ever since.

Cadillac global sales increase 22.1 percent in March

(April 5, 2017) Cadillac sold 27,406 vehicles in March globally, an increase of 22.1 percent. March was the 10th consecutive month of double-digit percentage growth. Cadillac sales in the rapidly expanding midsize luxury crossover segment grew 65 percent in March and 54.4 percent so far in 2017.

Cadillac’s new XT5 luxury crossover continues to be one of the U.S. market’s best-selling luxury vehicles, although the U.S. was the only market that saw a sales decline in March and for the year.

In early 1947, Chevrolet introduced its Advance Design trucks, the first completely redesigned GM vehicles to appear after World War II. Owners of earlier pickup models had asked for a roomier, more comfortable cab with improved visibility and a wider pickup box. They got it all. The Advance Design was built through 1954 before Chevrolet completely overhauled the lineup. The first, and only, major Advanced Design styling and engineering changes occurred with the 1954 models. These models featured a one-piece windshield, an all-new grille and new parking lights. This 1954 model was discovered in Mt. Carmel Junction, Utah.

Mixed bag for March automobile sales in U.S.

(April 4, 2017) It was a mixed sales bag for automakers in March with more showing decreases from March 2016 than gains. Those reporting sales decreases included Ford, Honda, Toyota, Fiat Chrysler, Hyundai and Kia. General Motors and Nissan reported gains as did Volkswagen, continuing its recovery from the diesel emission scandal.

Overall light truck sales jumped 5.4 percent year-over-year, but car sales continued to skid, down 11 percent.
