New 2018 Toyota Camry screams 'bold'

(January 29, 2017) Like the latest Prius, the 2018 Camry — which was unveiled at the Detroit auto show earlier this month —  is built on the modular TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. A clean-sheet design, the new Camry lowers the hip points of the front and rear seat passengers by 1 inch and 1.2 inches., respectively, drops the overall vehicle height by 1 inch, and lowers the hood 1.6 inches.

(January 28, 2017) Gas prices in most parts of the country are low, hovering around $2 per gallon. Yet, fuel efficiency remains extremely important to most car buyers, according to the folks at AAA, who have researched their members.

And while it’s true that relatively cheap gasoline has buoyed the comeback of large utility vehicles, it has done nothing to discourage automakers from readying and introducing a plethora of new electric and hybrid vehicles that are hitting the road.

(January 28, 2017) Ford announced this week that its new GT has a top speed of 216 mph, produces 647 horsepower and 550 lb.-ft. of torque with 90% of peak torque available from 3,500 rpm, weighs approximately 3,000 pounds bone dry (that is, with no fluids whatsoever onboard), has a power-to-weight ratio of 4.72 lb./horsepower, and is faster around the track than the McLaren 675LT and Ferrari 458 Speciale.

1984 MG Metro Turbo to star at Silverstone auction

(January 27, 2017) WARWICKSHIRE, England — A remarkably original 1984 MG Metro Turbo with just 7,317 miles on the clock has been consigned by Silverstone Auctions to its Race Retro Classic Car Sale taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on Feb. 25 and 26.

BMW K 1600 B Bagger unveiled in Cleveland

(January 27, 2017) CLEVELAND — BMW Motorrad’s production prototype K 1600 B Bagger will make its U.S. debut to motorcycle enthusiasts at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. For the first time, show attendees will be able to view the production version of the Concept 101, a bagger-style motorcycle based on BMW’s six-cylinder K 1600 platform.

BMW representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the K 1600 B, which was developed specifically with American riders and American roads in mind.
