A Jeep discovery



The Jeep Willys became popular after World War II and was sold in a variety of formats. This early 1950s model Jeep pickup proclaims its 4-wheel-drive configuration on the side of the hood. It was found in retirement on Highway 82 near the Continental Divide in Colorado.

VW Group outsells GM in July to regain top spot in China market

(August 16, 2016) Current sales figures show that Volkswagen outsold General Motors in China in July. Volkswagen Group has also outsold GM in the first seven months of the year to reclaim its position as China's largest automaker. GM outsold China in June of this year as well as 2015.

VW Group delivered 285,900 vehicles in China last month, an increase of 16 percent from a year earlier. General Motors delivered 270,529 vehicles in China in July. Through July, VW Group sales in China totaled  2,148,000 vehicles, a gain of 8 percent from the same period last year.

Audi vehicles to talk to U.S. traffic signals

(August 16, 2016) Audi of America in conjunction with Traffic Technology Services (TTS) will be launching the first V-to-I technology called Traffic light information that will be arriving on select 2017 Audi Q7, A4 and A4 allroad models this fall.

“Continuous innovation in connected car services and advanced driver assistance systems that enrich and improve the customer experience is at the core of the Audi brand and our collective future,” said Scott Keogh, president, Audi of America.

Nissan puts five year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty on Titan

(August 16, 2016) NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Perhaps in an effort to get noticed among truck buyers of Silverados, F-150s and Rams, Nissan has  put a five-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty on its all-new 2017 Titan and Titan XD full-size pickups. The announcement is part of Nissan's "Year of the Truck" — a new product onslaught of pickups, SUVs and CUVs.

World's best drone pilots take on unique Ford-designed course

(August 15, 2016) BRENTWOOD, Essex, England  — Ford has brought together one of the world’s most exciting new sports and some of its finest fast cars to create a new video called “Dronekhana.” Two of the planet’s best drone pilots tackle a unique obstacle course that includes a drifting Focus RS, a smoking Ford Mustang, and a robot. Pilots Luke Bannister and Brett Collis navigate their drones remotely with the help of special goggles, which provide a first-person view as they fly under the Ford Ranger pickup and through the Ford B-MAX’s pillarless doors. A rig of 36 GoPro cameras captured the drones mid-action in a style made famous by the 1999 film The Matrix.

Infiniti to show production-ready variable compression ratio engine

(August 15, 2016) HONG KONG — Infiniti will present VC-T (Variable Compression-Turbocharged), the world's first production-ready variable compression ratio engine and one of the most advanced internal combustion engines ever created, on Sept. 29 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

More than 20 years in development, Infiniti says its new four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline VC-T engine represents a major breakthrough in internal-combustion powertrain technology.

BookAclassic heads to the U.S. with launch at Monterey Car Week
