Ford's European new vehicle sales rise 11 percent in 2015

(January 17, 2016) COLOGNE, Germany — Ford Motor Company sales in Europe increased 11 percent in 2015, and the company became Europe’s No.1 commercial vehicle brand last year for the first time in 18 years.

Ford sold a total of 1.3 million vehicles in its 20 traditional European markets last year. Ford’s market share increased by 0.1 percentage point in 2015 to 8.0 percent, marking Ford’s second straight year of share growth in Europe. Across all 50 European markets, Ford sold 1.5 million units, up 10 percent, driving Ford’s market share up by 0.5 percentage points to 7.7 percent.

Mecum calls its MidAmerica Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction best ever

(January 15, 2016) Celebrating its quarter-century anniversary, the annual Mecum MidAmerica Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction achieved an astounding $9,054,965 in total sales and an 80-percent sell-through rate. In all, 516 motorcycles hammered sold of the 646 offered Jan. 7-9.

The auction’s overall total increased more than $1.5 million above 2015 with this year’s average motorcycle sale reaching more than $17,000, a near-$5,000 increase over last year’s average.

Buick Avista receives EyesOn Design award

(January 15, 2016) DETROIT — The Buick Avista concept received the EyesOn Design Award for Design Excellence – Concept Car at a ceremony earlier this week at the North American International Auto Show.

It was the second consecutive year Buick received the award, which was bestowed on the Avenir concept in 2015. EyesOn Design — a benefit for Henry Ford Health System’s Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology — recognizes the best production and concept vehicle designs making their worldwide debut in Detroit.

GM seeks used car buyers with new online service

(January 15, 2016) DETROIT — Online shoppers in the U.S. looking for a used Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac will soon have access to a national inventory of low-mileage former General Motors lease, daily rental and company-owned vehicles never before available to the public in one easy-to-navigate place.

GM Chairman and CEO Mary Barra announced the company is launching the Factory Pre-Owned Collection as another example of GM’s efforts to earn customers for life.

Nissan recognizes Ford, Chevy and Dodge in Titan XD commercial

Southern California to remain home for Mazda in new facility
