Leaders say partnership between Renault-Nissan, Daimler accelerates

(September 16, 2015) FRANKFURT, Germany —The partnership between the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler AG accelerated and strengthened as it entered its sixth year in 2015, the companies' leaders said today in their annual media update during the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Carlos Ghosn, chairman and CEO of the Alliance, described the partnership as "one of the most productive in the auto industry."

Jaguar Land Rover celebrates latest Bond cars

(September 16, 2015) FRANKFURT, Germany — Jaguar Land Rover celebrated their vehicles appearing in the new Bond adventure, SPECTRE this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Cars, including the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and the iconic Land Rover Defender, stole the show as they were unveiled in public for the first time at the palatial Thurn und Taxis in Frankfurt.

Brembo presents new family of calipers for high-end cars

(September 16, 2015) FRANKFURT — Brembo, a world leader in the design and manufacture of braking systems for the automotive industry, is presenting a new family of aluminum calipers for high-end cars at the 66th International Motor Show in Frankfurt this week.
 
The new fixed caliper, available in 17-inch, 18-inch and 19-inch versions, is the optimal solution for cars with a high braking disc surface. Such discs usually require generously-sized calipers, which entails an increase in weight.
 

Honda builds 30 millionth vehicle in North America

(September 16, 2015) MARYSVILLE, Ohio — Honda marked a major milestone this week as the company's eight auto plants in  the United States, Canada and Mexico reached the 30 million mark in total automobile production. Honda started auto production in North America in Marysville, Ohio, on Nov. 1, 1982.  Last year, more than 97 percent of the Honda and Acura automobiles sold in the U.S. were produced in North America.

Audi reveals new 354-horsepower S4 in Frankfurt

(September 16, 2015) FRANKFURT, Germany — Audi is launching the new S4 and S4 Avant at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week. Audi says the top models from the A4 series are ahead of the competition — with intelligent lightweight design, powerful engines, an extensive package of the latest technologies, and 354 horsepower that translates to 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 4.7 seconds.

The all-new A4 and S4 are expected to go on sale in the U.S. market in 2016. The Avant is not planned for the U.S. market.

Toyota steps closer to a compact crossover with revised C-HR Concept

(September 16, 2015) FRANKFURT, Germany — One of the hottest and fastest growing segments in the automotive industry is the compact crossover, and Toyota has announced it is jumping into the segment with a new model called the C-HR. Toyota revealed an updated C-HR Concept this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show, indicating it will be close to the actual vehicle it plans to take to market in the next year.
