Hyundai recalling 470,000 Sonatas to replace faulty engine parts

(September 27, 2015) Hyundai said on Friday that it would recall 470,000 Sonata sedans in the United States to replace faulty engine parts, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Hyundai Motor America is recalling the model year 2011-2012 cars as certain metallic debris may not have been fully removed when engine crankshafts were being manufactured, according to the documents.

Porsche debuts exclusive 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition

Porsche boss Mueller named new CEO of Volkswagen

(September 25, 2015) WOLFSBURG, Germany — Matthias Müller, 62, has been appointed CEO of Volkswagen effectively immediately, VW announced today. The decision was made by the Supervisory Board at its meeting in Wolfsburg. Müller is currently chairman of Porsche AG in Stuttgart. He will continue in this function until a successor has been found.

Winterkorn resigns as CEO of Volkswagen over emission scandal

(September 24, 2015) Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn stepped down Wednesday, taking responsibility for the German automaker's rigging of U.S. diesel emissions tests. Winterkorn had been under heavy fire since revelations Friday that the company was cheating on tests by fitting its diesel vehicles with software that masked their real-world emissions, in violation of the U.S. Clean Air Act.

The pressure intensified this week as the company announced that some 11 million vehicles worldwide had the illegal software.
