Top technology schools testing Audi's adaptive driving beam headlights

(June 26, 2015) HERNDON, Va. — Audi of America is working with two of the nation’s leading institutions of engineering and design to come up with a test procedure that could form the heart of a new federal regulation covering the technology for the first time. The aim is to get the company’s highly advanced headlights into vehicles that can be sold in the United States, just as they are in other countries.

Ford Smart Mobility shifts from research to implementation

Ford Smart Mobility is the company’s plan to deliver the next level in connectivity, mobility, autonomous vehicles, the customer experience and big data. Ford introduced the plan in January, along with 25 experiments aimed at better understanding consumers’ mobility needs around the globe.

Ford issues safety recall for 203,500 Transit Connect, Escape vehicles

(June 25, 2015) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford has issued a safety compliance recall in North America involving 203,500 Transit Connect and Escape vehicles Ford said there have been no accidents or injuries attributed to these conditions.

The safety compliance recall involving 2014-2015 Transit Connect and Escape vehicles in North America concerns the instrument panel cluster. When starting the vehicle, the instrument cluster, warning chimes, messages and warning lights may not work. If these displays don’t work as intended, it could increase the risk of a crash.

Chevrolet lifts lid on 2016 Camaro convertible

Chrysler recalls nearly 100,000 Cherokees for power liftgate problem

(June 25, 2015) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Fiat Chrysler is voluntarily recalling an estimated 99,436 SUVs in the U.S. to install shields that protect their power liftgate control modules, and related components, from moisture.
 
FCA US began an investigation after learning of a reported vehicle fire. The probe revealed power liftgate control modules in certain SUVs may be inadvertently exposed to water. This may cause a short-circuit, creating a fire hazard. However, the Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.
