Goodyear to begin fleet testing Air Maintenance Technology

(October 23, 2014) AKRON, Ohio — The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's Air Maintenance Technology (AMT) for commercial vehicles will begin testing on U.S. trucking fleets in the next few months, as part of a research project supported by United States Department of Energy's Office of Vehicle Technology.

Since 2011, Goodyear has been developing and testing its Air Maintenance Technology, which can aid in fuel savings and carbon dioxide reductions while potentially improving tire life, casing durability and safety and eliminating need for manually inflating tires.

Boston buys 284 rapid transit vehicles from China firm

(October 23, 2014) BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation today will officially get the approval to purchase 284 rapid transit vehicles from China CNR Corporation Limited (China CNR) to provide service for Boston metro's red and orange lines.

Specifically, these rapid transit vehicles include 152 orange line vehicles and 132 red line vehicles, mainly for the replacement of the old vehicles already in service over the past 30-to-40 years.

Hyundai adds standard features, tweaks suspension, to 2015 Santa Fe

Customized 2015 Ford Mustangs to debut at SEMA show in Las Vegas

(October 23, 2014) Ford is bringing performance to the halls of the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association show, performance that can be summed up in one name — Mustang.

Working with top builders including Galpin Auto Sports, Petty’s Garage, MRT and many others, Ford will showcase over a dozen custom Mustangs in its 20,000-square-foot booth at Las Vegas Convention Center, Nov. 4-7, with even more new pony cars on display around the show floor.

This rare find of a 1947 Kaiser (left) and Frazer were found in a yard in Wayne, Alberta, Canada. The Kaiser-Frazer car company was founded on July 25, 1945, and displayed prototypes of their two new cars in New York in 1946. Kaiser and Frazer shared bodies and powertrains. The cars, the first all-new sedans in the U.S. following the end of World War II, were powered by a 226-cubic-inch L-head six making 100 horsepower mated to a three-speed transmission with optional overdrive.

Mazda's 2014 fleet sales up 34 percent in United Kingdom

(October 22, 2014) LONDON — The demand for Mazda cars by company car drivers and fleet managers alike is the reason behind the acceleration of Mazda Motors UK corporate sales that are up a staggering 34 per cent in the first nine months of 2014 versus an industry increase of 7.4 per cent.

Underpinning the rise in total fleet sales is a 67 per cent increase in the core corporate segment that includes sales to end-user fleets, contract hire and leasing companies and to either SME’s or direct to company car drivers via Mazda Contract Hire.

Extremely rare Bentley to headline Silverstone Auctions final 2014 sale
