Renault announces new investments in Brazil

(April 19, 2014) Renault Group Chairman and Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn has announced a new investment cycle in Brazil in the amount of R$ 500 million ($183 million) over the 2014-2019 period. This investment will be channelled into the development of two new cars at Renault’s plant in Curitiba.

“Since 2011, Brazil has been the brand’s second largest market after France and it is a priority in the Group’s global growth strategy,” says Carlos Ghosn. Renault Brazil successfully completed its previous investment plan and is now pursuing the ambition of expanding its domestic market share”.

Chevrolet returns to the big screen in 'Transformers: Age of Extinction'

(April 18, 2014) DETROIT — Chevrolet and a Camaro that converts into the iconic Bumblebee will once again turn heads when the Transformers movie franchise returns to screens around the globe in the upcoming “Transformers: Age of Extinction” from director Michael Bay, in theaters June 27.

The latest film also features Chevrolets sold around the world including a Corvette Stingray that converts to Autobot Crosshairs, a Trax and a Sonic outfitted as a Rally Car.

Audi A3 named '2014 World Car of the Year'

(April 18, 2014) NEW YORK — At a press conference hosted by the New York International Auto Show and Bridgestone Corporation, the Audi A3 was declared the 2014 World Car of the Year.
 
Audi is no stranger to our World Car Awards program now in its 10th year.  Audi has now won seven times, having previously collected the inaugural 2005 World Car of the Year title, three World Performance Car titles in 2010, 2008 and 2007, and two World Car Design of the Year titles in 2008 and 2007.
 

Ford Mustang returns to New York to celebrate 50 years

(April 18, 2014) NEW YORK — Ford Mustang fans and company executives gathered at Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, N.Y., on Thursday to celebrate 50 years of the iconic sports car that debuted on the grounds of the 1964 World’s Fair.

In addition to the all-new 2015 Mustang, 94 cars from New York-area Mustang clubs were brought to the plaza in front of the Unisphere, where Moray Callum, Ford vice president of design, chose a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang fastback as best in show.

2015 Dodge Charger gets new styling, 300 horsepower V-6

Nissan launches program to make Leaf charging free and "EZ"

(April 17, 2014) NEW YORK — Nissan today announced the expansion of its successful "No Charge to Charge" promotion, which will provide two years of no-cost public charging with the purchase or lease of a new Nissan Leaf. In total, Nissan will launch "No Charge to Charge" in 25 U.S. markets, which are currently responsible for more than 80 percent of Nissan Leaf sales.
