Mercedes success in United Kingdom — over 100,000 sales in a year

(November 30, 2013) For the first time in its UK history, Mercedes-Benz has sold 100,000 new cars within a year.  The 100,000th car was delivered this week at Mercedes-Benz of Bristol, and comes after the company posted record sales levels throughout 2013.

GM Foundation announces $2.9 million in grants to higher education

(November 29, 2013) DETROIT — The General Motors Foundation has announced grants totaling $2.9 million to support 26 leading universities and partnering organizations across the country this year through its University/Organization Partner Program.

The initiative provides funding to advance secondary education curricula in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, also known as STEM, information technology and other fields important to the automotive industry.

Artist completes 'Fiat 500L Italian Masterpiece' on ceiling of car

Two new recalls issued for 2013 Ford Escape

(November 27, 2013) Ford said Tuesday it is issuing two new recalls for fire risks in some 2013 Ford Escape SUVs, after it received new reports of engine fires. The recalls are the latest setback for the vehicle that now has had seven separate recalls — including five for fires — and have twice forced the automaker to warn drivers to either stop driving them or get alternative transportation.

VW Golf first imported car to win 'Car of the Year' in Japan
