Honda to invest additional $215 million in Ohio operations

Chrysler Group to invest $52 million in its Michigan engine plants

(August 7, 2013) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler Group today announced that it would invest $52 million in its engine plants in Trenton and Dundee, Mich., to increase capacity of the Tigershark engine, creating nearly 300 new positions at the Trenton plant. Trenton North will receive $11.5 million to add an assembly line for the four-cylinder Tigershark engine. With a $40.5 million investment, Dundee will convert a line to machine cranks, heads and blocks to support Tigershark production at Trenton.

Sustainable materials make Ford F-150 a greener vehicle

(August 7, 2013) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford is proving that pickups can be green and tough by adding rice hulls to the list of sustainable materials used to build the F-150. Ford is using plastic reinforced with rice hulls — a byproduct of rice grain — in an electrical harness in the 2014 F-150. The company will need at least 45,000 pounds of hulls in the first year.

Honda to show new European Civic Tourer at Frankfurt
