Mini celebrates 10 years of diesel engines in Europe

(June 17, 2013) One man, one engine, and no end of anniversaries — it was 120 years ago that Rudolf Diesel started developing the compression-ignition engine that was soon to be named after him. The very first prototype completed its test run in August of that same year. The first diesel engine factory was founded 115 years go.

World record — Longest parade of Mazda MX-5s

A total of 683 Mazda MX-5s joined the procession on the roads around the RDW Test Centre forming the longest parade of driving Mazdas ever.

Volkswagen reports global sales up 5.9% in first five months of 2013

(June 14, 2013) WOLFSBURG — Volkswagen has reported that its sales are up worldwide by 5.9 percent from January through May compared to the same period in 2012. The company sold 3.87 million vehicles in the first five months of 2013, and 816,500 in May, a 6.9 percent gain.

Ford says it has cut CO2 emissions 37 percent at global facilities since 2000
