Anniversary editions of 12C and 12C Spider to mark 50 years of McLaren

Tesla repays DOE loan nine years early

(May 23, 2013) PALO ALTO, Calif. — Tesla Motors announced that it has paid off the entire loan awarded to the company by the Department of Energy in 2010. In addition to payments made in 2012 and first quarter 2013, the current payment of almost half a billion dollars ($451.8 million) repays the full loan facility with interest.

Ford increases North American capacity by 200,000 units

(May 23, 2013) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Company will add an additional 200,000 units of annual straight-time capacity this year. In addition, Ford will produce an extra 40,000 units by idling select plants for only one week during what has been the traditional two-week summer shutdown.
 

Ford and Its dealers pledge $400,000 for Oklahoma tornado relief

(May 23, 2013) DEARBORN, Mich. — As Oklahoma residents struggle to rebuild their lives after this week's devastating tornadoes, Ford Motor Company and its dealers are donating $400,000 to assist with relief efforts.  Ford also is donating a Ford Transit Connect van to the American Red Cross for relief services and emergency preparedness education.

GM to donate first production 2014 Cadillac CTS to SAE Foundation

SRT Viper set for return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans

(May 22, 2013) AUBURN HILLS, Mich.— The Le Mans is the world’s oldest active sports car race. The first event was held in 1923 and for driver and machine, it’s the ultimate test of speed, efficiency and endurance. Participation is by invitation only as the Automobile Club de I ‘Quest (ACO) selects the 56 entries. The 81st edition is set for June 22-23 at Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.

Subaru holds the line on 2014 Legacy, Outback prices

(May 22, 2013) Cherry Hill, N.J. —  Subaru of America has announced pricing for the 2014 Legacy and Outback model lines, with most versions having no increase over the 2013 models. Starting at $20,295, the 2014 Subaru Legacy remains the most affordable midsize all-wheel drive sedan in America. The 2014 Subaru Outback, the original Sport Utility Wagon, starts at $23,495.

GM invests 44.5 million in Lansing Grand River plant

(May 22, 2013) LANSING, Mich. – General Motors has announced a $44.5 million investment to build a Logistics Optimization Center at its Lansing Grand River Assembly plant, creating 200 new jobs. The investment will be used to build a 400,000-square-foot building adjacent to the plant to sequence and assemble parts to make manufacturing more flexible at the site. Lansing Grand River is home of the Cadillac ATS, the North American Car of the Year.
