Volkswagen passenger car sales up 9.4 percent worldwide

(June 12, 2012) WOLFSBURG — Worldwide deliveries by the Volkswagen passenger cars brand increased by 9.4 per cent in the period from January to May to 2.29 million units. The brand handed over 476,900 vehicles to customers in May, a 9.3 percent increase over May 2011.

Ford Focus ST features factory ‘overboost’ turbo engine

Chrysler recalling additional Jeep Liberty SUVs over corrosion issue

BMW records best-ever worldwide sales in May

(June 11, 2012) MUNICH — BMW Group sales recorded solid worldwide growth again in May. With 156,957 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brand automobiles delivered worldwide (compared to 147,565 in May 2011), the BMW Group achieved its best-ever May sales result.

A total of 728,029 vehicles have been delivered to customers since the start of the year, exceeding the previous year’s first five months by more than 60,000 units.

2013 SRT Viper GTS-R completes first track test

Nissan to expand exports of Altima to about 100 countries

(June 10, 2012) FRANKLIN, Tenn. — As the first 2013 Nissan Altimas came off the line at Smyrna, Tenn., and Canton, Miss., Nissan announced that it was going to expand exports of the mid-sized sedan.

"Altima is our highest volume vehicle. And as we look to the future we are going to look to expand to ship from 40 countries to maybe closer to 100 countries for this vehicle," said Nissan's Director of Export Operations Jerry Brickett.

Nissan gains market share in Europe

Nissan in Europe had sales of 52,354 units in May, lifting volume for the first five months of the year to over 300,000 units.

Ford sets May sales record in China

(June 9, 2012) SHANGHAI, China — The all-new Ford Focus helped drive Ford passenger car sales to a new record in China last month. With almost 13,000 wholesale units of the all-new Focus sold in May, Ford’s passenger car joint venture, Changan Ford Mazda Automotive Ltd. (CFMA) achieved record sales of 34,550 wholesale Ford-brand cars, a 23 percent increase compared to May 2011.
