Malibu, Azera, Prius c all earn top ratings by IIHS

(May 15, 2012) The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco, a midsize hybrid; the 2012 Hyundai Azera, a large family sedan; and the 2012 Toyota Prius c, a small hybrid, have earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's top award for good performance in front, side, rollover and rear impact evaluations.

The Malibu Eco is a redesigned model. The 2012 Malibu continues to be sold and also is a Top Safety Pick.

Chevrolet to market small SUV, the Trax, everywhere but U.S.

(May 14, 2012) DETROIT — The Chevrolet Trax, an all-new small sport utility vehicle, will join the Chevrolet global portfolio and make its debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.

With room for five passengers and class-leading cargo space, Trax will meet the needs of customers in more than 140 markets.  Mexico and Canada will be the first markets to launch the crossover in the fourth quarter of this year. Because of the strong position of the Equinox, there are no plans to introduce the Trax in the U.S. market.

Eterniti Motors sells its first super SUVs

(May 14, 2012) Eterniti Motors, which debuted its Artemis super-SUV at Beijing’s Auto China show which ran until earlier month, recorded its first sales at the event.

The London-based company took five orders at the show, four for standard-specification cars, which are priced in Sterling at £210,000 ($328,000) plus taxes and one for a fully bespoke version, the price of which will depend on the customer’s final specification requirements.

Ford to triple EcoBoost engine production in Europe by 2015

(May 14, 2012) — Ford is planning to more than triple the production of its vehicles equipped with fuel-efficient and powerful EcoBoost gas engines in Europe to approximately 480,000 a year by 2015, from 141,000 in 2011. More than 135,000 of which will be vehicles equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, manufactured in Bridgend, Wales.

GM builds sustainable plant in Brazil

These sustainable features are expected to accredit the plant for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
