Chrysler continues sales momentum in Canada

(December 3, 2010) As with its U.S. counterpart, Chrysler Canada continued its sales momentum last month, compared to November 2009.

November was the 12th month in a row for sales growth — with 15,308 vehicles sold, up 34 percent compared to November 2009. Included among those monthly results was positive retail sales — up 80 percent, the best November retail sales results since 2002.

Regal helps Buick sustain 14-month winning streak

(December 3, 2010) DETROIT — Consumer attraction to the all-new Buick Regal continued to heat up in November. The Regal posted its best sales month since its launch earlier this year.

“Regal is definitely helping us reach new customers, including import owners,” said Sam Slaughter, dealer principal, Sellers Buick GMC in Farmington Hills, Mich.

Reuter named vice president, Corporate Communications, Nissan Americas

Most recently Reuter was senior director, Nissan Americas where he was responsible for ensuring alignment across the corporate, product and internal Communications functions throughout the Americas.

MDX sport utility, TSX sports sedan lead Acura sales

(December 2, 2010) TORRANCE, Calif. — The MDX sport utility and the TSX sports sedan led Acura November sales of 10,718 which represent a 17.1 percent increase over November 2009.

Acura year-to-date sales reached 118,117 — a 24.6 percent increase over 2009 sales.

Ford hires Cadillac designer to direct Lincoln styling

(December 2, 2010) DETROIT -- Max Wolff, Cadillac's design director for exteriors, has been hired by Ford to give the Lincoln luxury brand a new design direction, according to Automotive News.

Wolff, 38, has held the Cadillac job at General Motors since 2007.

Subaru rushing toward sales record in U.S.

(December 2, 2010) CHERRY HILL, N.J. — Subaru continued its record-breaking 2010 run with the best November in the company's history with sales of 20,792, a 22 percent increase over November 2009.

November also saw individual records broken for Legacy sedan, Outback and Forester, while the Impreza line saw a 33 percent jump in sales. 

Chicago assembly plant prepares for new Explorer

(December 2, 2010) CHICAGO — The reinvented 2011 Ford Explorer has started rolling off the line at Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant, marking a new beginning for both the historic factory and the iconic SUV.

The Torrence Avenue plant has been extensively renovated to accommodate production of the new Explorer, and all employees have prepared for its launch by participating in extensive training programs. 

Audi on track to set vehicle sales record in U.S.

Leading into the close of the year, November sales of Audi cars and SUVs not only marked the eighth record month of 2010, but also comes on the heels of the best-ever October U.S. sales for new and certified pre-owned vehicles in Audi U.S. sales history.

Most automakers see double-digit gains in November

(December 1, 2010) Most automakers recorded double-digit sales increases in November, keeping the year's selling rate above 12 million vehicles for the second straight month. Overall, November sales were up 17 percent over 2009.
