Government findings on Toyota unintended acceleration near

(October 13, 2010) The government expects to meet its late-year deadline for determining whether throttles or other electronic systems could be linked to unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles, a senior safety investigator said.

"We're working hard to get this to you," Richard Boyd, acting director of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's defect investigations unit, told the chair of a science panel that is looking at unintended acceleration industrywide, not just in Toyotas.

Richard Petty Motorsports, Daytona latch onto Perky Jerky

Chrysler releases additional pictures of 200, the Sebring replacement

Ford, GM report big sales gains in China, Asia Pacific and Africa

(October 11, 2010) Ford and General Motors today reported big sales gains in China, and Ford said September and year-to-date sales in Asia Pacific and African sales were up 27 and 40 percent respectively.

Ford had its best monthly sales result in the Asia Pacific and Africa region in September, selling 78,700 units, an increase of 27 percent compared to September last year. It sold 651,856 vehicles in the region in the first three quarters, an increase of 40 percent compared to the same time last year.

Ford scientists look to algae as potential biofuel

85,000 Mercedes vehicles recalled over steering issue

(October 11, 2010) Daimler AG is recalling more than 85,000 Mercedes-Benz models in the United States over a steering flaw that may make the cars difficult to control.

The voluntary recall affects 2010 C-Class Model 204 and E- Class Model 212, and 2010-11 E-Class Coupe/Cabriolet Model 207, Daimler said in a report sent to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Scion announces pricing for 2011 xD Release Series 3.0
