Nissan announces prices for 2011 Armada and Titan

(August 22, 2010) Nissan has announced U.S. pricing for the 2011 Nissan Armada full-size SUV and 2011 Nissan Titan full-size pickup. Both vehicles are on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide.

The 2011 Armada is offered in three well-equipped models, Armada SV, Armada SL and Armada Platinum. Each is offered in a choice of 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive. All 2011 Armadas feature a standard 317-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine and 5-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota unveils 'Stories from the Road' minisite

GM and Virginia Tech create advanced tire test facility

(August 21, 2010) BLACKSBURG, Va. — Better fuel economy and lower emissions are two reasons why General Motors is investing $5 million to help create the National Tire Research Center at Virginia Tech Transportation Institute.

The facility is the result of a long partnership between VTTI and GM. Other funding for the $14 million center is coming from Virginia Tech and the national tobacco settlement.

Ford lowers price, ups gas mileage for 2011 Edge

(August 19, 2010) Ford has announced that it is cutting the price of its popular Ford Edge by $200 for the 2011 model year. The 2011 Edge will start at $27,995 including destination charge.

At the same time, Ford said the new Edge 3.5-liter V-6 gets better mileage than the 2010 version. It cited 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway compared to EPA ratings of 18 and 25 for the 2010 model.

2010 Ford Taurus resale value jumps 39 percent

(August 19, 2010) DEARBORN, Mich. —  After one year in service, the hot-selling 2010 Ford Taurus is commanding impressive results at auction, posting an average 39 percent increase in resale value — or $7,100 — over the 2009 model.

The huge leap reflects the strong appeal of Ford’s full-size sedan, according to Rose Peng, manager, Global Lifecycle Analytics Department (GLAD).

GM files plan for initial stock offering
