This third-generation Ford LTD (1979-1982) was found languishing behind a repair shop in eastern North Carolina. The third-generation was downsized from the previous iteration losing about 15 inches of body length and seven inches of wheelbase. Available was a 5.0-liter and 5.8-liter V-8. Ford built 356,535 LTDs in coupe, sedan and wagon variants in 1979. Sales tumbled to 141,562 in 1980. (Photo by Jim Meachen)
