(August 8, 2011) It's being reported by several sources that the launch of the 2012 Ford Focus Electric will be delayed — just slightly.

Slated to arrive in a variety of markets late this year, Ford has trimmed its fall launch markets to New York and California.

The other initial markets identified by Ford will have to wait until the spring of 2012. They are Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh Durham, Richmond, Seattle, Tucson and Washington, D.C.

Giving credibility to the several-month delay is a Focus Electric print ad that reads "Coming spring 2012."
