Mopar showcases modified Jeep vehicles at Frankfurt Motor Show

(September 19, 2015) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The Mopar brand revealed a trio of Jeep branded show vehicles modified with a selection of parts and accessories at the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show earlier this week. The Jeep Cherokee KrawLer, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sunriser and Jeep Renegade Trailhawk demonstrate how Mopar can help personalize the customer journey for owners around the globe.

Jeep Cherokee KrawLer

Based on the Trailhawk model, the Jeep Cherokee KrawLer (pictured at top) was created to tackle the toughest driving conditions — as the name suggests by hinting at the vehicle’s “rock crawler” capabilities for navigating harsh off-road obstacles. The capital “K” and “L” in the name refer to the KL code that identifies the Cherokee nameplate.

The ride is raised for extreme off-road use with Mopar equipment including special suspension, BFGoodrich KM2 255/80/17 off-road tires, wider fenders, skid plates and rock rails. The Cherokee KrawLer sports a special, military-inspired matte-green body color accented with quartz grey interior and exterior details.

The KrawLer is powered by a 3.2 V6 Pentastar 272 horsepower engine, automatic nine-speed transmission and “Jeep Active Drive Lock” four-wheel drive with low range and rear differential lock.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sunriser

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sunriser features exclusive matte orange paintwork (hence the name), in addition to a host of Mopar accessories such as bumpers with a double tow hook on the front, a 4-inch suspension lift kit and half doors. The Sunriser also showcases LED lights fitted between the A-pillar and windscreen to complete the look. LED technology is also implemented for the daytime running lights and rear light clusters. The interior is wrapped in black leather customized with matte fluorescent orange trim, matching the color of the body.

The vehicle includes an engine skid plate and beadlock wheels, which fix the tire bead to the rim to prevent unintended tire removal, especially when running with very low pressure and tackling tricky obstacles such as rocks, sand or mud. The Sunriser is powered by a 2.8 CRD engine combined with a five-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep Renegade Trailhawk

Rounding out the Mopar customized line-up at Frankfurt is a special “Moparized” version of the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. This one-of-a-kind Trailhawk is equipped with 17-inch aluminum alloy rims, underbody skid plates, two rear tow hooks and exclusive black mirror caps that nicely contrast with the Anvil-colored livery and special side stickers.

Inside, the customization includes sporty pedals and Jeep design mats. All Mopar accessories are specifically designed to enhance the adventurous spirit of this version of the Renegade, which is most suited to off-roading.
