Mecum Glendale 2022 adds featured vehicles to auction’s 1,500-car lineup

(February 28, 2022) Collector cars from high-profile collections and individual offerings that stand out as headline-worthy attractions all on their own have been added to the lineup for Glendale 2022, Mecum’s fourth annual auction at State Farm Stadium in Arizona slated for March 16-19. The auction will feature an estimated 1,500 classic and collector vehicles on offer along with approximately 200 pieces of Road Art and memorabilia.


Among the latest additions to the auction lineup is The Marty Nelson Collection of 20 vehicles, including a broad selection of American classics, such as a 1958 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe Deville, a 1957 Buick Special Convertible, a 1956 Ford F100 Pickup and a trio of Chevrolet Corvettes — a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe  with a 327/340 HP V-8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission, a 1982 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe with just 35,000 miles and a 1996 Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition Convertible sporting a Sebring Silver exterior with desirable red leather interior and black convertible top.


1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible

American classics from Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac and Chrysler are the predominate theme among the 10 vehicles to be offered from The Jim Osterman Collection, five of which will be offered at no reserve, including a pair of Chevrolet Bel Air Convertibles — a 1955 model with Gypsy Red/India Ivory exterior and a Red and Ivory interior  and a 1957 version that boasts a rotisserie restoration on its Tropical Turquoise exterior.

The Triple B Collection includes a diverse selection of vehicles ranging from a 1970 Chevrolet Impala Kingswood Wagon with a fuel-injected 502 CI V-8 engine and a 1988 Chevrolet K5 Blazer with fuel-injected 5.7L V-8 engine, to several models from the Ford Mustang family, including a 16,800-mile 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt that is one of 5,772 produced in 2008 and one of only 1,426 in black, a 2007 Ford Mustang Saleen Parnelli Jones  that is number 469 of 500 manufactured and shows only 300 miles, and a 2006 Ford Mustang Roush Stage 2 Convertible with just 9,125 miles on its supercharged 4.6L SOHC V-8 engine.


2015 Ferrari 458

Additional consignments of note include a 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta  that is one of just 499 produced and with just 98 miles, a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT  that is number 940 of 1,270 produced and with just 182 miles, and a pair of Lamborghinis: one, a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster  that is one of 49 Roadsters produced and one of just two in Grigio Avlon, and a 1996 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster (Lot S155) that is one of 12 produced for the U.S. market in 1996 and has just 8,594 miles. Not to be outshined by the imports is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am that boasts just one owner and 110 miles since new.

These consignments and more will join Michael Brown’s Hooked on Vettes Collection of 13 Chevrolet Corvettes and more than 200 neon signs, as well as the impressive array of offerings from The Mile High Collection, including the 2006 Ford GT, that was previously owned by NFL Hall of Famer John Elway and is offered at no reserve with just 232 miles on the odometer, and a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback, that is known as the Sin City Shaker by virtue of its highly exclusive 427 CI SOHC “Cammer” V-8 engine.
