Luftgekühlt 10 makes highly anticipated return to Universal Studios

Tenth Anniversary event will take
place Oct. 5 at Universal Studios

(July 2, 2024) At its humble beginnings in the cramped parking lot at Deus Ex Machina in Venice, Calif., back in 2014, nobody could have predicted that the Luftgekühlt brand celebrating air-cooled Porsches would mark its Tenth Anniversary with a European Tour, successful Air|Water continuation event, and a return to its most iconic location from the past decade: Universal Studios Backlot.

In the words of Luft’s creative director Jeff Zwart, “Every good movie has a sequel, and it's time for ours!”

After traversing the country and the globe — journeying through Los Angeles, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, and with Denmark scheduled for July 9 — the Luft team will return home to celebrate its Tenth Anniversary and annual gathering on Oct. 5. This event promises to be the most remarkable air-cooled Porsche gathering to date.

Led by Luft’s co-founder and visionary, Patrick Long, the Universal Studios Backlot will be totally re-invented for Luft 10: The Sequel. The movie sets, city streets, sound stages and backdrops will be curated in a fresh, explorable way to provide established fans with a new experience. While anybody who missed Luft 6, which Road & Track described as “The most ambitious car show in the world,” will have an opportunity to experience something truly special.

“We’re excited to finally announce the plans around our tenth annual event,” said Long. “We’ve been looking at venues for many years with Luft 10 in mind and all agreed the Universal Studios Backlot provided the most incredible and memorable setting for Porsche’s legendary road and racing cars. We always strive to create a stunning, fresh experience for visitors of all walks, and we’re confident everybody will be buzzed by what we’re going to create. We’re looking forward to welcoming everybody back in October.”

Tickets will be available for purchase from luftgekuhlt.com in the coming weeks. As always, owners of air-cooled Porsches will also be able to participate in Luft 10 by registering to display their car on the Backlot.
