Honda to bring Android Auto integration to Africa Twin

(February 12, 2021) Honda announced that Android Auto will be integrated with the current-model Africa Twin models (2020 and newer). As has already been the case with Gold Wing models since last summer, Africa Twin customers with Android smartphones and the Android Auto app will be able to seamlessly enjoy application services including music, phone calls and messaging, at no additional cost. To utilize Android Auto with Africa Twin models, a Bluetooth headset is also required (sold separately). App and communication costs may apply.

The CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES and standard Africa Twin are highly advanced adventure motorcycles with cutting-edge electronics systems, including Apple CarPlay integration. Now the models will also bring similar technology to Android users. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration coming to more models, Honda is bringing additional comfort and convenience to customers’ motorcycle lifestyles.

Android Auto is a simple way for customers to use a phone on the motorcycle. With simplified interface, and easy-to-use voice actions, it is designed to minimize distraction so riders can stay focused on the road. Android Auto makes it easy to access favorite music, media and messaging apps while on the motorcycle. With Google Assistant on Android Auto, riders can stay focused, connected and entertained, keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the handlebar, while using their voice to help with their day.

Africa Twin owners who would like to add Android Auto integration should visit Honda’s website, where detailed instructions will be provided for downloading the software to a USB drive and uploading it to their motorcycle. A passenger volume-control function will also be included in the software update.
