Ford year-to-date sales up 25 percent in Canada

(June 2, 2010) OAKVILLE, Ontario — Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw sales increase 19 per cent compared to last May with year-to-date sales up 25 per cent.

Strong sales of the Ford Taurus, Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX which saw an increase of 242 per cent, 65 per cent and 74 per cent, respectively, helped to drive the positive results. With sales of 101,054 units year-to-date, Ford of Canada continues to lead the market.

"A great example is the all-new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty that delivers best-in-class torque and horsepower as well as class-leading fuel economy. This truck gets the job done."

After its first full month of sales, the 2011 F-Series Super Duty is off to a great start with sales of F-Series increasing 42 per cent compared to the same period last year. Overall vehicle sales were up 19 per cent with total truck sales up 29 per cent compared to last May.

• Ford Taurus sales jump 242%

• Ford Edge sales were up 65%

• Lincoln MKZ sales rose 2%
• Lincoln MKX sales were up 74%
• Lincoln Navigator sales jump 107%
• Overall Lincoln sales increased 41%
