Honda issues statement on recall of 350,000 more vehicles for airbag fix

(May 29, 2015) Honda will add approximately 350,000 vehicles to its recalls of Takata airbag inflators in the United States following a recently announced defect determination by Takata. However, most of the vehicles deemed at risk in Takata's defect determination report were already subject to previous voluntary actions taken by Honda, including a national Safety Improvement Campaign (SIC) for driver front airbag inflators and a passenger front airbag inflator recall that was focused on regions with specific environmental conditions.

New-car sales to reach 17.3 million SAAR in May, Kelley predicts

(May 28, 2015) IRVINE, Calif. — New-vehicle sales are expected to decline 1 percent year-over-year to a total of 1.59 million units in May 2015, resulting in an estimated 17.3 million seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR), according to Kelley Blue Book kbb.com.

"May sales will reach the highest total year-to-date, and could remain the highest until December of this year," said Alec Gutierrez, senior analyst for Kelley Blue Book.
