Mustang wins MotorWeek's 2015 Drivers' Choice Best of the Year award
(February 13, 2015) CHICAGO — MotorWeek has named the Ford Mustang as its "Best of the Year" pick from among all 2015 Drivers' Choice Award winners. The 2015 Ford Mustang, the 6th generation of America's original pony car, stood out amongst stiff competition for its eye catching retro-inspired exterior design, modern drivetrains, honest quality and overall progression.
"The all-new Mustang is a watershed design," says MotorWeek host John Davis. "This car takes Ford's most iconic performance nameplate to a new level of sophistication and prowess that blasts past domestic rivals and now challenges the best sports cars from around the world."
As one of the auto industry's most coveted honors, The Drivers' Choice Awards are announced, fittingly, at the largest consumer auto show in North America, the Chicago Auto Show.
"Ford is honored that MotorWeek has selected the all-new Mustang for this award," said Steve Ling, Ford North American Car Marketing Manager. "Our goal was to build the best Mustang ever and we're proud that this award-winning vehicle has been so well received by our customers."
Recognized as the best overall among winners in 12 lifestyle categories, the Ford Mustang also won as "Best Sport Coupe." All Drivers' Choice winners are featured on Motorweek.org, as well as on a special episode of MotorWeek airing on public television stations beginning today, and on cable's Velocity beginning Feb 24.
The MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Awards are consumer focused and represent the best automotive picks within a large range of lifestyles. MotorWeek's editorial staff evaluates more than 150 cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles per year, and winners are chosen based on driving dynamics, performance, technology, practicality, fuel efficiency and dollar value.
