Hyundai's XCIENT fuel cell trucks achieve record of 10 million km



(June 13, 2024) SEOUL — Hyundai's XCIENT Fuel Cell electric heavy-duty trucks recently surpassed a cumulative driving distance of 10 million km (6.2 million miles) in Swiss fleet usage — a testament to the world-class hydrogen fuel cell technology’s long-term reliability. This achievement was made in just three years and eight months since the XCIENT Fuel Cell began fleet operations in Switzerland in October 2020.

This year’s contribution will result in a total of 650,000 trees planted since the start of the partnership in 2022. One Tree Planted works to restore forests across the globe, up-keeping the earth’s habitat for biodiversity and creating a positive impact on society at large.

Lotus Emeya achieves record-breaking charging time

(June 11, 2024) LONDON — Lotus has announced its first electric hyper-GT, Emeya, has achieved a record-breaking charging time using the public charging network. The car is capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in 14 minutes, using a 400-kW (600A capable) DC fast charger, making it one of the fastest charging electric vehicles (EVs) available today.

Volvo recalls EX30 electric crossover for software glitch



(June 11, 2024) Volvo is recalling the electric EX30 because of a software issue. The problem affects all of the almost 72,000 EX30s Volvo has made. The small crossovers might have an error in the center screen causing the speedometer to go into test mode when the car starts.

Since then, the steering wheel has been more than just the interface between driver and car for transmitting steering commands, it has also become a protective function in the event of an accident. For around three decades, the driver's airbag has been standard equipment in most cars, helping save lives and reduce injuries.
