Hyundai Motor's Ioniq 5 N sets EV benchmark at Pikes Peak Hill Climb



(June 25, 2024) Hyundai announced today that its Ioniq 5 N models successfully completed the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) on June 23, setting a record for the Electric Modified and Production SUV/Crossover categories. Toyota Texas to expand, add more than 400 new jobs



(June 24, 2024) SAN ANTONIO  — Toyota Texas is expanding its footprint with a $531 million investment bringing more than 400 new jobs to San Antonio. The new on-site 500,000-square-foot facility will be dedicated to drivetrain parts production, further affirming Toyota’s commitment to reinvesting profits in its U.S. operations.

BMW opens first press shop in North America



(June 24, 2024) SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Celebrating its 30th anniversary of assembling BMWs for the world, BMW Manufacturing has opened its state-of-the-art press shop as it prepares to assemble the new BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle at the Spartanburg plant. The press shop will stamp sheet metal parts for the new BMW X3. These components include hang-on parts such as the vehicle’s four doors, fenders, lift gate, and exterior body sides.

(June 21, 2024) Frank Stippler has set a new lap record on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with a preproduction model of the upcoming RS 3 product upgrade. The Audi Sport racing and development driver clocked an impressive time of 7:33.123 minutes, beating the current fastest lap time in this class by more than five seconds. Volvo to end sedan production in U.S.



(June 20, 2024) Volvo will end U.S. production of the S60 compact sedan — the brand's entry model — at the end of the month. The S60 was Volvo's first and until recently only U.S.-manufactured vehicle. S60 output began at the $1.1 billion factory near Charleston, S.C., in 2018, according to Automotive News.
