(May 15, 2022) There was a time when automakers sought to make their truck-based SUVs seem more car-like.  Things have changed over the years — now they seem to want their car-based crossovers to appear more truck-like.  It’s a trend that’s brought us fortified off-roaders such as the Subaru Forester Wilderness, GMC Terrain AT4, Kia Sorento X-Line and  — the subject of this review — the Toyota RAV4 TRD.

(May 14, 2022) If you’re looking for a vehicle that offers sports car-like performance and still has a practical side — and budget is not a factor — Mercedes-Benz may have the answer for you in the 2022 AMG GT 53. Called a 4-door coupe, the 2022 AMG GT 53 has room for two in the back and gives them easy access without having to contort themselves as you often must do in a two-door coupe when entering through the front doors.

(May 11, 2022) Mazda has loaded up its compact CUV segment entries with yet another vehicle just now reaching dealers, the CX-50. It joins the Mazda3 hatchback, CX-30 and CX-5 in the company's packed lineup. We haven't driven the 2023 CX-50, but it has been the recipient of some strong reviews. We do have considerable experience with the CX-30 and for 2022 we got another seven days behind the wheel of the CX-30 turbo, which we consider one of the best crossovers in a crowded segment.

(May 8, 2022) It took Infiniti nearly a decade to introduce a second-generation QX60 — and Nissan's luxury brand did a very credible job with the 2022 model. Introduced in 2013, Infiniti skipped the 2021 model year ramping up for the new second-generation, and the three-row mid-size SUV has been dramatically redesigned both inside and out.

(May 5, 2022) Oh yes, looks matter. The luxury compact SUV segment that began well over a decade ago and sells by the bucketloads has moved on to a supposedly more stylish SUV-coupe iteration and as expected sells in big numbers. Luxury automakers Porsche, Genesis, Mercedes and BMW all offer slope-backed variants of their mid-sized SUV product offerings like Mercedes GLC Coupe, BMW’s X4 and X6, Porsche Macan and Genesis GV70.

2022 Mazda MX-30

HERNDON, Va. — It wasn’t long after Japanese automaker Mazda introduced itself to America that it reintroduced the rotary engine — initially known as the Wankel rotary — to that same American market. With fewer moving parts, an extremely compact package and an almost electric-like smoothness, the rotary was perfect for a family of compact coupes and sedans. But it was also thirsty, and Mazda’s timing — on the cusp of our first OPEC crisis — couldn’t have been worse.

(May 1, 2022) Hyundai has created an eye-appealing N Line package for the 2022 Tucson, its popular crossover that has been met with rave reviews since it entered the marketplace late last summer. It doesn't need enhancements to look good, but the N Line takes the compact crossover to the next level in terms of driveway appeal.
