Nissan Pathfinder Platinum — Nothing short of outstanding View

By Jim Prueter

(July 27, 2022) With a dated lineup of utility vehicles that are well past their freshness date, Nissan has been rejuvenating its SUVs and the Pathfinder is the latest to receive a comprehensive and complete redesign for the 2022 model year. The previous Pathfinder was well out of its league and at the bottom of the segment against exceptionally good competitors like the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

2023 Nissan Z

INDIANAPOLIS — Too many automakers have tried to update classic designs with a retro flair to put an amber light on their boring product line.  That’s not the case with the 2023 Nissan Z.  While design references the original 1970 Z, and the chassis dates to the last Z, absolutely nothing about the driving experience or technology within seems outdated.  It’s as if a little bit of Greg Brady blended with George Jetson and this is what we got.

Hyundai Elantra N — An aggressive compact sedan

(June 19, 2022) If you can't afford a BMW 3-Series, but want the ultimate driving machine experience, we have the answer for you. The 2022 Hyundai Elantra N offers BMW-like performance and handling at a smaller price starting under $34,000. And unlike the BMW, it comes with a 10-year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty. Is this a great country or what?

2022 Nissan Frontier

PHOENIX — For 16 years the Nisan Frontier has remained largely unchanged and in automotive speak a rolling fossil where new Oldsmobiles were still in dealer showrooms.  For reference, there wasn’t even such a thing as the iPhone. Yet while it was well past its freshness date the popular mid-size pickup still sold in respectable numbers. That’s not surprising, the old Frontier still looks good, it did most things extremely well and not everyone gets overly excited with the latest high tech and digital stuff they’ll never figure out how to use or even want to know.

Nissan Kicks has big personality

(May 19, 2022) What kind of car do you really need?  My husband thinks he needs a twin-turbo German rocket wagon to get his kicks, but our budget determines otherwise.  What we need is an affordable compact crossover with style, technology, fuel efficiency, and enough interior space for four and their luggage.  Like many of you, we need a car like the 2022 Nissan Kicks.  It’s the smallest Nissan crossover, but it has a big personality.

2022 Nissan Pathfinder

HERNDON, Va. — If, like me, you were licensed in the late ‘60s and car shopping in the ‘70s, you’d have great memories of Nissan’s creative output. First up – again, for me – was the Datsun 2000, a Japanese riff on the British sports car (think MGB) some 20 years before Mazda did its own riff, the Miata, on the British sports car. Before most had time to take note of the 2000, Datsun introduced its 240Z.

Nissan Frontier Pro-4X — Decent power, off-road credibility

(February 27, 2022) It was called Hardbody — a spunky, chunky compact pickup truck from the mid-1980s to mid-90s that was the most macho thing to come out of Nissan, offering a V-6 ‘tween squared-off flared fenders. It was an in-your-face pickup when Toyotas, Fords and Chevys were less aggressive. And it sold very well indeed, more than 127,000 in the U.S. in its last full sales

Nissan Rogue — Fully redesigned

(October 16, 2021) Fully redesigned, the 2021 Nissan Rogue looks to continue its role as not only the company’s best seller but also as one of the most popular compact crossover SUVs on the market today. Through the first three quarters of the year, the Rogue holds a solid third place in U.S. sales as one of three in its class with over the 200,000 mark behind only Toyota’s RAV4 and Honda’s CR-V.

Nissan Sentra — A noteworthy remake

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(May 10, 2020) Several months ago we were introduced to the sub-compact 2020 Nissan Versa, which for years wore the title as the "least expensive car in America." It was also one of the least desirable small cars in America unless you were on a very strict budget, but wanted to purchase a new car. We were blown away by the new 2020 Versa, which is attractive and loaded with safety and technology features — a remarkable makeover.

Nissan Rogue Sport — Popular crossover refreshed

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(April 26, 2020) When Nissan introduced a new sub-compact crossover sport utility into the red-hot segment in 2017 it didn't come with a new catchy name. In what turned out to be a brilliant move Nissan married its new vehicle to the hot-selling Rogue compact crossover by calling it the Rogue Sport. And while the “junior” Rouge adopted most of its bigger brother's styling cues the Sport has become a success of its own in the competitive segment.
