By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(November 1, 2020) It's a stunner. Everywhere we'd go someone would comment on our "great-looking car." The 2021 Lexus LC 500 convertible possesses looks to kill, a stunning conglomeration of creases and lines highlighted by a giant Lexus spindle grille. It's a concept car for the road with a top that opens — and closes — in 15 seconds with the push of a button.

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(September 20, 2020) A mix of comfort and track-like performance makes the 2020 Lexus RC F perhaps the perfect choice for someone who desires a luxury-infused daily driver with an attitude backed up by 472 horsepower and cutting-edge styling. Lexus is keeping its luxury-rocketship coupe — introduced in 2014 as the RC 350 — competitive with numerous updates including styling tweaks and a slight increase in horsepower from its V-8 engine.

Lexus RX 350 — A comfortable luxury hauler

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(May 17, 2020) The Lexus RX was introduced in the U.S. 22 years ago and the trailblazing crossover is now in its fourth generation, growing from a compact size into a mid-sized vehicle. Although dozens of copycats have sprung up over the years, and the luxury market is now saturated with crossovers, the RX has been the segment sales leader since its inception. The current generation was introduced in 2016 as the RX 350, and a stretched model was added to the lineup in 2019 increasing its length by 4.4 inches to accommodate a third-row seat.

Lexus LS 500h — Hybrid car luxury

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Virtually every automaker this decade is pursuing some form of "electrification" within their brands whether it be luxury or mainstream. Listen to the talking points of worldwide automakers and full electric is the wave of the future. Except it isn't — at least not now. Indeed, the multi-billion dollar push to EVs has been slow in paying dividends especially in this new age of unprecedented gas engine fuel efficiency and low prices.

Lexus RX 350L — Stretched for three rows

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Maybe it was just a stroke of luck or maybe it was a very savvy decision based on the future of the luxury market. Either way, Lexus was the first out of the starting blocks with a smaller unibody sport utility vehicle, which has morphed into the modern crossover.

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Even though the compact Lexus NX crossover has remained mostly the same since its inception for the 2015 model year — with some freshening including styling tweaks in 2018 — its sales have steadily grown each year not only pointing out the popularity of the NX, but reflecting the exploding compact luxury crossover segment.

Lexus UX — Luxury in a small package

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Small is now big in the ever-growing crossover game and that's just fine with us. We have always been drawn to small, maneuverable vehicles so it’s not surprising we are attracted to Lexus' new sub-compact entry into the luxury crossover segment — the UX. UX standing for "urban crossover."

Lexus ES 300h — Luxury and fuel efficiency

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Most luxury hybrid sedans and crossovers are of the high-performance variety — combining a potent gas engine with a couple of electric motors to create scads of horsepower, instant torque and enviable acceleration while at the same time slightly elevating miles per gallon. Lexus has taken a different tack with its all-new 2019 ES 300h hybrid sedan opting for optimal gas mileage (43 mpg city, 45 highway and 44 combined using regular gas) at the expense of neck-snapping performance.

2019 Lexus UX

SEATTLE — Small is now big in the ever-growing crossover game and that's just fine with us. We have always been drawn to small, maneuverable vehicles — tossable little guys, if you will — and so its not surprising we were attracted on first drive to Lexus' new sub-compact entry into the luxury crossover segment — the UX. UX standing for "urban crossover" according to Lexus.

2018 Lexus RX 350L

INDIANAPOLIS — Our society teaches our little brains that longer is better, whether we’re talking about hot dogs, vacations, or, um, car hoods.  But, longer is not always better.  Nobody needs a longer workday, dentist visit, or hurricane.  But, a longer Lexus RX crossover with a third-row seat?  Yeah, that’s definitely better.
